Cute, quick notecards

Cute little notecards are always handy to have on hand for quick gifts, notes and tags and these ones are no exception!!

The Narrow notecards and envelopes are an economical way to give someone a little handmade card to show you care. The pack contains 20 cards and envelopes.

These cards were made using the same paper as my last post - Picture Perfect Party. By cutting the 6 x 6" pieces into 2 x 4" you can get 4 pieces from one sheet. I then adhered the inside flap of the envelope with a a 2 1/4" circle of the same paper stack in a coordinating pattern.

Add a little punched out sentiment and  you are done!

Stampin Up's CEO Sara Douglas made these cards using the cute Tutti Frutti set so I might try that next!

Cue the Confetti!!

I needed to make a bunch of birthday cards that were quick, easy and suitable for all ages - cue the Picture Perfect Party designer series paper and cue the confetti!!

These papers have one side of each page is photographic imagery making the pages very realistic - think donuts, party streamers and balloons!

These bold images allow for the paper to do all the talking on the cards which need minimum accessories and embellishments to create a masterpiece!

For these cards I was inspired by Brian King. I took the colours from the designer series paper (dsp), adding the greeting and testing out my new Tailored Tag punch! It's the perfect size for so many sentiments.

This 'Cue the Confetti' the sentiment comes from Picture Perfect Birthday - a set I see myself using alot!

I've been so spoilt!

I was so excited to receive this parcel in the mail last week. Recently, I promoted within Stampin' Up! and my team leader Marelle spoilt me with lots of goodies.

I received an Oroton business card holder, a personalised notebook, stunning card and my very own Paper Pumpkin kit!!

The Paper Pumpkin kits are not available in Australia so it was a lovely surprise. They are a monthly all inclusive kit that you can subscribe to. Fingers crossed they will one day make it Down Under :)

January Birthdays

After the rush of Christmas I usually find myself running behind a little making cards for January. I always have great intentions of being prepared but in reality it is usually a last minute idea.

My sister recently celebrated her birthday and Mum asked me to make a card for her to give my sister. I happily made a card and then remembered that I needed one from me too!

I had some new stamp sets I was keen to play with so it was hard to decide which one to use! I settled on Petal Palette as I had the Petal Passion designer series papers on my desk already.

The images stamp beautifully and the coordinating Petals and More thinlits make it quick and simple to add extra elements to the card.

The sentiment comes from another fabulous set in the Occasions Catalogue - Picture Perfect.

I showed you my card a few days ago - I chose the card on the left with the sentiment 'Life is so much better with you in it'  because well it is :)

You're Awesome!

I love, love, love this stamp set Epic Celebrations for quite a few reasons.

1. It is FREE with a qualifying order
2. It is so on trend for the teens
3. It fills the need for those teenage cards and especially boy cards that I always struggle a little with.

This is the fun card I came up with. The designer series paper I used is called Bubble and Fizz and it too can be earned for FREE. I drew the colours out of the stripes in the paper, I thought the Bermuda
Bay could be for either a boy or a girl. The other images in the set are great too - a guitar and headphones.

More Petal Passion

I am still playing with my blends and the petal Passion designer series papers and making cards with the pieces. So much fun! No two pieces are the same and that give me great variety for matching colours.

For this card I experimented with using the blends to colour in the white background of the Petal Passion paper then mounted it onto black and bermuda bay cardstock. This gives it a darker and quite different look.

The sentiment comes from Perennial Birthday - a beautiful set of flowers, leaves and sentiments. I love all the different fonts in this set. I stamped the sentiment in memento tuxedo black then used my circle punches to layer the white onto the basic black and use dimensionals to give it some height.

You could use any colouring medium to achieve a similar look - blends, watercolour pencils, stampin marker or even create a watercolour wash look with your inkpad and aqua painter pens. Have a play and experiment with colours and techniques - it's heaps of fun!
