Lots of Lavender

Lots of Lavender has been such a popular choice for sale-a-bration and it's not hard to see why! I love the soft, whimsy feel of this 2 step set. You stamp the outline of the image and then stamp over the top in a coordinating colour.

My card was inspired from one I received from my team leader for my recent promotion and I just loved it so much I had to make some more of my own!

I did a couple of colour combinations - wisteria wonder and sweet sugarplum (I am so going to miss this colour when it retires soon!). I then used the light Old Olive blends pens to colour the leaves.

The embossing is the Petal Pair textured embossing folders embossed onto smokey slate cardstock.

The sweet sentiment comes from Perennial Birthday.

Get your set for FREE with a $90 order but only until Saturday 31st March.

Bottles and Bubbles

How fun are these bright cards? I saw these done by Patty Bennett and I knew I had to CASE them straight away - they were so much fun to make. And the best bit - I was able to use lots of FREE sale-a-bration items!

These were very quick to out together using the Bottles and Bubbles framelits dies and the FREE bubbles and fizz designer series paper. The two sizes of bottle dies fit the bottles on the dsp so no stamping involved in these ones - (although there are matching stamps if you want to stamp and  colour coordinate with your favourite beverage)

I die cut a heap of bottles, punched out a heap of circles and then layered it all together on the FREE Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes. The cards are patterned and pre scored so no work there and the envelopes have a matching flap.

Add a small punched out sentiment (mine is from Ready to Pop), some adhesive sequins and job done! The cards come with matching envelopes to add that extra something to the cards too.

Why not give them a try yourself?

WA Demo Retreat Blog Hop

Wow what an amazing day I had at the WA Demo Retreat Day last weekend.

My lovely friends Nicole and Kelly organised a fun day for approx 30 WA Demonstrators to gather, make projects, eat yummy food, win awesome prizes, meet new friends and share our love of all things Stampin' Up! - we were like kids in a lolly shop!!

We met in a hall in Waroona (about an hour away) making it a half-way point for both those of us in the metro area and those further south. It was a beautiful spot. I was lucky enough to be driven down by a fellow demo which was lovely, we chatted all the way and seemed to get there in no time!

The main idea of the day was to do what is known as a shoebox swap. Each person designs a card/project and puts all the supplies into a small 'shoe box' so others can pick up the box and make the card by ourselves. We we able to make 12 projects each so everyone made a slightly different set of cards. It was busy but so much fun!

Each card was so different and it was nice to make different styles of cards, colours and stamp sets. Everyone is always so willing to share their tips and tricks and I always come away with my mind boggling with ideas and techniques to try.

My project was this cute little mermaid card. It uses many of my favourite things - the colour bermuda bay. circle punches, glimmer paper, sequins, water colouring and a bit of whimsy.

The card is quite simple, there is just a few steps. These are the instructions I included in my kit to help make the card.

Stamp sets used – Message in a Bottle, Bubble Over.
Dies – Swirly Scribbles

Squeeze some ink into the lid of the Bermuda bay inkpad and use the aqua painter to create a wash on shimmer white cardstock.
Punch 2” circles in shimmer white, naturally eclectic dsp and glimmer cardstock
Punch starburst shape out of Bermuda bay cardstock
Stamp mermaid in black memento ink on shimmer circle
Stamp bubbles around mermaid in pool party ink
Colour mermaid in blends – crumb cake, bermuda bay and night of navy
Die cut wave (Swirly Scribbles) from vellum paper and adhere to the washed cardstock
Trim to size and adhere panel to the Bermuda bay cardstock.
Adhere circles to card as per picture.
Stamp the 2 sentiments in memento ink on white cardstock and cut to size. Adhere to card with mini dimensionals.
Add tutti frutti sequins to card randomly.
Adhere white panel insert inside the card.

As usual I was too busy talking/creating/eating to get any photos of the day but I know Nicole did so hopefully she has shared some in the previous blog post.

Thank you Nicole and Kelly for a fantastic, well organised day. I hope we can do it again soon!

Sending lots of love with Hanging Garden flowers

I can’t believe I have waited this long to ink up this stamp set - the beautiful Hanging Garden. I love the simple effect of night of navy and crisp whisper white together don't you? To me it is very elegant look.

The strip of spotty paper is from the tutti frutti designer series paper. I used my ever faithful oval framelits and stitched framelits to crop out the hanging basket. The sentiment comes from the same hanging garden stamp set. I think this is a sentiment we should all use a bit more often.

The idea from this card came from Mary Fish - the queen of simple, elegant cards!

Remember time is running out for your chance to get some fantastic FREE sale-a-bration items. Sale finishes 31st March 2018.
