You Made My Day / Ornate Garden

For last week's card class we focused on the Ornate Garden Suite. (pages 64-67) so this week I will share with you the three cards that we made.

This first one showcases the lovely new incolor Bumblebee. Now personally I am not much of a yellow girl either in clothes or crafting but I do like this colour as it isn't too 'I need sunglasses to see' bright. Paired with green and white it has a lovely clean crisp look to it.

These ornate dies are just gorgeous but can be a little fiddly to die cut so I recommend passing this a few time through your die cutting machine. We even turned our die from portrait to landscape and ran it thought a few times just to make sure it was cut. That way the pieces are much more likely to just fall out. Or you can use the brush attachment that fits to your take your pick tool.

A sweet and simple Hello with Tasteful Touches

I need a quick Hello card so I created this one. This layout is my go to when i need a card in a hurry. It uses a 3x6 piece of DSP so you can get a stack from one pack of DSP whether it is a 12x12 pack or a 6x6 pack. This particular DSP is from the 2020-2022 In Color 6x6 pack.

The new Misty Moonlight is such a lovely colour to work with and I love it paired with the white dots.

A lovely focal image, a sweet sentiment and the card was completed just in time :)

Jar of Flowers

I just love this jar of flowers bundle, I have so many ideas floating around in my head of cards and projects I can make with this.

I LOVE that there is a coordinating jar punch - that makes projects quick and easy - like this one!

I stamped the jar image on flirty flamingo cardstock in the same ink then punched it out. On the white panel I stamped the flowers in flirty flamingo ink then lightly coloured the petals with blends. I also used the blends to flick some splatters on the white to add some interest and texture.
I haven't received all my new DSP packs yet so I have used the retired gingham paper but really any dsp pattern would look good with this.

I added the knotted ribbon to the top of the jar and used quite a few dimensionals to raise all the layers!

I haven't added a sentiment to this card. I might add one when I send it but I don't think it really needs one...... I quite like it how it is.

ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Today I am blog hopping with the ESAD team and the theme is Annual Catalogue. Having so many new items to play with is exciting but it does make the decision a little tricky too! I couldn't decide!

I ended up choosing the Forever Fern stamp set. I have been playing with this set a lot but I wanted to experiment with other colours too. Last week I participated in a team blog hop and we had a colour challenge - rich razzleberry, gorgeous grape and daffodil delight. These are not colours that I would usually put together and I was keen to see what my team could create.

Well my team member Kylie Page blew it out of the park! She created this Joseph's Coat technique card and I just KNEW I had to recreate it!

As I still had the colours on my desk I used the same colours and I love the end result.

Now Kylie even made a video of how she created this card and has graciously let me share it with you. So if you haven't tried this please do - it's lots of fun and the result are amazing.

I do hope you give it a try and experiment with other colours too.

Next on the hop is the amazing Kelly Kent - make sure you check out her blog and all the others for some fantastic inspiration.

Cherished Friend / Jar of Flowers

I have been having a great time playing with brand new products - I love this time of year!

This bundle is called Jar of Flowers - a wonderful stamp set full of a variety of jars and flowers. There is also a coordinating jar punch making it easy to produce cards like this!

I went with a highland heather colour scheme and used a variety of light and dark blends to colour my flowers adding some wink if stella over the top.

Th sentiment panel is from the Lovely You stamp set stamped in highland heather (leaf) and gorgeous grape (sentiment)
