Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Case a Team member

Yippee, it is time for another Around the World on Wednesday blog hop. These are alaways such fun - I realy look forward to them .

And this month's theme is a beauty - case a team member! Angie McKenzie, the beautiful organiser of this blog hop drew our names out one by one to match us with a fellow blog hopper. I am matched with Tania Tobin a super gorgeous and super talented card designer. So I am equally excited and nervous! And it was soooo hard to choose when you love their work so much!

I have been playing with the new in color Just Jade and my order for more cardstock and the forever gold laser cut specialty paper. So as soon as I spied this card I knew that was the one to case.

Not only am I super awed about this card but Tania also always has the most fabulous staging for her photos too (something I really need to work on too!).

And here is my card.....

I stayed pretty true to Tania's card as I loved all the elements to it. But I did change a few things like the ribbon and the sentiment. I love hoe she used the wink of stella pen on the embossed leaves - such a nice touch.

And aren't those foil elements just stunning? There are heaps of different designs in the pack - they just pop out and you are ready to create - I love this!

Click through to see what everyone else has created - I can't wait to see which of my cards has been chosen to case! Next up is Danielle ......

So Very Happy to Know you class treats / Tasteful Touches

I haven't shown you my class treats for a while so I thought I should rectify that. My girls love getting a little chocolate treat each week. I try and vary up the chocolate so I am constantly on the lookout for prepackaged products that are fun and yummy!

These treats are simple, just a wrap of designer series paper around a standard kit kat bar. I have then added another layer of dsp this time using the touches of texture dies to cut out the shapes. I then stamped on each layer ending with the flower image that I have coloured with petal pink blends. I love the little sentiment, perfect for my girls - 'coz I am so happy to know then and call them my friends :) It is from the Beautiful Frindship stamp set.

Oh and in case you are wondering why the wrappers are different colours, I managed to find a new variety of kit kat but they didn't have enough for everyone so some got original and some got white chocolate :)

Ornate Garden meets Just Jade

The second of our class cards was this stunning Just Jade version. I love this colour! So pretty!

The one colour looks amazing when you can add texture with the embossing folder and the beautiful frame.

The pop of white keeps it fresh and clean.

Spotlight technique with Ornate Style

The technique we used on this third card is called the Spotlight Technique. It is basically highlighting part of a stamped image making it a focal point of the card.

I have done this technique many times over the years but when I saw a card in Pinterest using this large flower I knew I had to recreate it.

The large bunch of flowers from the Ornate Garden bundle is perfect for this technique. We stamped the whole image in black on whisper white then stamped a smaller section onto a scrap of white using the layering circle dies to cut out the shapes. A bit of colouring using the dark blends of Poppy Parade. Balmy Blue and Granny Apply Green make this image really pop.

A cute little sentiment (from the Very Versailles set) on soft seam foam cardstock ties the colours together.

StampingPals Challenge #5 | SU Favourite Bundle Challenge

Hello everyone and Happy July! Wow, how fast is this year flying by?  Today it's time for a StampingPals Challenge - favourite bundle. Now I have to admit this was a hard one for me because choosing a favourite bundle is like choosing a favourite child!

In the end I settled on the Ornate Garden bundle as I just love the large floral stamp and being able to use bermuda bay makes me happy! I love these colours paired with grey too, it's a really striking combination.

I saw this card by a Dutch Demo Kaylee den Breejen on Pinterest which I used as inspiration for my card.

I used blends to colour the image trying to leave some white space on the flowers. This was mounted onto the smoky slate embossed panel with another new favourite - the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.

The sentiment comes from the A Good Man stamp set and I cut it out with the Tasteful Labels die.

Such a fun card to maker, I do like to colour when I can, I find it very relaxing x
