Modern Heart - you're in my thoughts

Whilst creating a card for yesterday's blog hop I decided to keep playing with a variety of colours using the same design.

The first card uses Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana.

For my second card I have used Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.

Which one is your favourite? I have to say I really like them all!

Stampers Anonymous Team blog hop 17

This month's colour challenge was an easy one for me as I love all these colours. The hardest bit was deciding which stamp set to use!

I decided to give some of my older stamp sets a bit more love so I pulled out this one - Modern Heart. I love the geometric images, especially the largest heart.

I used the background stamp which I stamped twice in bermuda bay ink to create a watercolour wash on the whisper white base. I then stamped the large and small hearts in melon mambo randomly. (yes the photo is a bit wonky and I do apologise but I have already given away this card so I couldn't re photograph it!)

I used the rhinestones to act as the silver element to tie in with the smoky slate card base. A layer of bermuda bay ties it all together.

And this sentiment is rather apt at the moment, there are so many friends and family that I cannot  visit at the moment (including my poor hubby who is stuck in hospital!) and I want them to know they are loved and cared about.

Retiring 2018 - 2020 In Colours

Each year we have to say goodbye to 5 in colours to make way for 5 new colours. And each year there is a mad panic as people realise this and stock runs out fast!

This year's retiring colours are Blueberry Bushell, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch.

So this is your reminder to get in early and get any of these products - especially the reinkers!

This applies to all the products in these colours - inkpads, reinkers, ribbon, markers, designer series paper, embellishments and cardstock.

Head over to my online store to get yours before it is too late!

Eat, Sleep, Create, Repeat - my current mantra!

In these crazy times crafting is keeping me sane. It has always been my go-to stress reliever but never more so than now.

I found this decal online and added it to this frame. I used my favourite Topical Oasis designer series paper and in no time at all I had a really fun home decor piece!

I am hoping to hang this in my studio soon and have plans to make a couple of them. Now I am off to find some more fun quotes!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

How fun - today I a participating in a brand new blog hop organised by Angie McKenzie called All Around the World on Wednesday!

We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world here to share our love stamps, ink and paper.

I hope you are inspired as much as I am with all the talent on offer.

The theme is 'all things crafty' and I chose to share a fun fold card that I made.

I would be lost without papercrafting, not only for the craft itself but also the friends I have made all over the world. In these crazy times we are experiencing right now it is so nice to know that I can reach out to these people and feel inspired, loved and certainly not alone.

So onto my card! I am using some of my favourite Stampin' Up! items - blends, rhinestones, wink of stella and polka dot ribbon.

The design is called an Overlay Fun Fold Card. I originally saw it demonstrated on youtube by Lisa Curcio @ Lisa's Stamp Studio. It really easy to do - just hard to photograph!

I coloured the large Magnolia flower with both light and dark flirty flamingo blends and the leaves with light and dark old olive. I then added a liberal dose of wink of stella everywhere. After diecutting the magnolia I trimmed off the stem and one of the leaves which I re-attached underneath when I added it to the card base.

Lookin' Sharp - Wittycisms

More playing with this fun witty-cisms stamp set and another case from Pinterest!!

I love this cactus stamp - it looks like it is waving or giving a high 5 (or is it only me that sees that?!)

Some rustic elements with the corrugated embossing folder and the linen thread add to the desert feel.  By colouring the cacti in the light blends of both call me clover and lovely lipstick I was able to match the ink colour but not hide the stamped image.
