Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - The World Around Us

Hello and welcome everyone to our monthly Around the World on Wednesday blog hop! Today we are showcasing our projects with the theme - the world around us.

For me the last few weeks have been all about Christmas holiday planning and preparation so I am sharing with you some of the projects I have been working on - some are still very much hush, hush but these ones I can show you now :)

I love the Poinsettia bundle so very much and have been using it for heaps of my class projects for cards, 3D items and home decor.

And I love these slim line cards that are very popular at the moment so I was keen to try one for myself. Super, super easy - I cut my cardstock in a 8" x 8" square then scored it down the middle. This way it fits into  standard DL envelope (for those of us in Australia/NZ at least!) I randomly stamped the poinsettia stamp over a piece of whisper white cardstock then die cut 3 stitched squares trying to get a random assortment of the stamped image to make the card look less uniform. I I also stamped the card base with the same image. I then coloured them with blends markers.

I also made a wooden ornament to hang on the Christmas Tree. I found these wood slices about 18 months ago - I *think* it was on Ebay. I simply made a poinsettia flower, added some sprigs and a liberal dose of Wink of Stella then glued it to the wooden slice. I then added a red ribbon hanger.

I cannot wait to see how everyone else interpreted this challenge, I sure had fun with it!

Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop #23

Yippee it is time for our monthly team blog hop! This month was a colour challenge - Pretty Peacock, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry. Not colours I normally gravitate towards but I was up for the challenge.

My first thought when I saw these colours was a fun birthday card but as I started to play I gravitated towards flowers and then ultimately ended up using Fancy Phrases.

I stamped the images in memento black then used my blends to colour the flowers. I did have to use another colour though - my leaves needed to be green!!

After stamping and colouring I ran the white panel through the subtle embossing folder - it gives a really nice texture to the card. I then added some of the yellow gems from the Holiday Rhinestone pack to the centre of the flowers for some bling and a sweet little sentiment which could cover a few different occasions.

Next up is Kristy - make sure you click through to see everyone's creations.

Posted for You

I love using the smaller images in our stamp sets to create my own designer series paper looking backgrounds. This card is really quick and easy to make (even quicker if you choose not to colour the images) I saw a card made by Lyssa @ Song of my Heart and loved the colour combination so I tweeked her design slightly and came up with this.

This sweet flower image is from the Posted for You stamp set. I randomly stamped the image on whisper white cardstock using misty moonlight ink. I then used my blends to add colour to the leaves. I then added some ribbon, some stamped sentiments - all from the same stamp set.

These types of cards are great for stampers who might not have a lot of supplies or perhaps you are travelling and don't want to take everything you own!

Sunflowers and Chocolate!

Sunflowers and Chocolates - what a fun combination!!

These are some class treats I made a while back that I forgot to share with you!

The sunflowers were stamped in highland heather in on highland heather cardstock then die cut. I die cut the top piece in gorgeous grape. The sentiment comes from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and I used the label me fancy punch.

Underneath is a Cadbury Breakaway biscuit. I love that these come individually wrapped and ready to gift! As the wrappers are purple I went with that colour scheme.

Golden Sunflowers - Let's Celebrate You!

Today I have a quick post for you. This card is very similar to one I made a month or so ago BUT it has been supersized for a larger number of people to write a message in to give someone for their birthday.

This  card is a full piece of A4 cardstock folding in half. I stamped and embossed the gold sunflowers then added the die cut sunflower over the top with the sentiment. I loved how it turned out.
