Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to another Around the World on Wednesdays Blog Hop. This month's theme is Something Old, Something New - perfectly timed for the end of the year with some products retiring and new products arriving in January.

I was excited to be able to play with some new products and I was able to mix them with current and retiring products. I believe this design was by Julie Davison but I cannot seem to find her original post.

I love the idea of a purply blue donkey - he reminds me of Eyeore :) He is from the Darling Donkeys stamp set and he matches so well with the Flower and Field DSP. (both available as free sale-a-bration items in January)

The retiring item is the wrapped in texture embossing folders.

ESAD Goodbye Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello friends and a very warm welcome to you, thanks for stopping by.

Today I am participating in the ESAD Goodbye Mini Catalogue blog hop. We are showcasing some of our favourites from the August-December 2020 mini catalogue.

One of my favourites from this catalogue is the Peace and Joy bundle. I love all the layers you can create with these dies and stamps.

For my card I chose to showcase the stamps. I saw these projects by Artisan designer Lauren Alarid and knew I wanted to recreate them as I loved the colours - silver and balmy blue together. And it uses a lot of my favourite dies too!

I embossed the background using the scripty embossing folder. I die cut the star and the starburst elements from the Stitched Stars dies. The Joy sentiment was stamped in misty moonlight ink and die cut with the stitched so sweetly dies.

I love how easily this card came together, it was a lot of fun to make. Why not give it a try yourself?

Curvy Birthday Celebrations with Magenta Madness

Today's card is very similar to the one I shared with you on Wednesday. See how different it looks just by using different colours and papers? I just love the versatility of this bundle.

Today's card uses the flowers for every season DSP and I paired it with Magenta Madness for a real colour hit.

The pink flower is from the Wreath Builder dies and the white leaves we made using the spring punch. The best but about these accents is that you can use whatever you have on hand. I finished the flower by adding a Beaded pearl.

Curvy Birthday Celebrations

I have been having fun experimenting with the curvy celebrations bundle and trying to add to my stash of masculine cards. I love the Brightly Gleaming dsp and thought this would be a great colour combination to start with - Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow.

By sticking with these colours (and a pop of crisp, clean whisper white) I added more stars using the Stitched Stars and the gorgeous copper star designer elements.

Stampingpals Challenge SP#10

Hello everyone! I am happy to participate in another StampingPals Challenge. This month was a sketch challenge.

I was asked to make some money wallets so I thought I would combine the two. In the end my project is a bit of a stretch of the sketch but it has similar elements to it!

I cut my base cardstock (gray granite) at 8" x 7" and scored at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2". I then added a piece of Peony Garden dsp to the front panels.

I stamped my poinsettia in basic gray ink to soften the look of the flower outlines then coloured my poinsettia flowers with granny apple green and petal pinks blends. And added a beaded pearl ( love, love, love these!) I layered dimensionals in between each layer to give it a lush, full look.

The sentiment comes from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink.

I made a little thumb hole on the inside to make getting the cash out a little easier and quicker :)

I closed the holder with mini magnets that I have had for a long time. I think I got them on ebay originally. They are easily attached with glue dots. I prefer the look of these to velcro dots although they would work well too.

If you don't have either, you could make a belly band out of cardstock or dsp to wrap around to keep it closed.

I hope you like my take on the sketch, I cannot wait to see what everyone else has created.
