Aim for Alaska Blog Hop - Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

Aim for Alaska Blog Hop - Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

Today I am participating in another blog hop - this one is for a training group I am involved in called Aim For Alaska. This group is run by Kylie Bertucci and was set up to help fellow demonstrators by sharing tips and tricks about their business. Stampin Up offers an incentive trip each year that we can earn  - and next year's trip is to Alaska, hence the name of the group and the blog hop!

Whilst I am not going to qualify for the trip just yet (but I'm working hard towards it!), this group has provided me with a wealth of knowledge to help myself, my team and my customers. You can sign up for the next program starting in October here. I highly recommend it if you are looking at taking your Stampin' Up! business to the next level and beyond.

Now moving onto today's card - the theme of the blog is to use new product from the soon-to-be-released 2017-2018 annual catalogue. I chose to showcase a beautiful set called Lovely Friends (page 173). I made a batch of these cards for a swap I was involved in recently and loved it so much I made an extra card. The set also comes in a bundle with a coordinating thinlits dies set called Lovely Laurel which I used to cut out the larger flower.

I wanted to showcase the gorgeous Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper which shows off our new 2017-2019 In Colours. These papers have a lovely watercolour washed look to them. But which colour to choose? That was the hardest bit for me! I ended up choosing Tranquil Tide. I think you would call it a transient colour - sometimes it looks green but sometimes it looks more blue. Either way it's a lovely colour to work with. Then I added a little pop of colour in another two new colours, Powder Pink and Berry Burst. The inside has a beautiful sentiment - I love the words and the font!

I chose to cut off a portion of the front of the card so I could show off two pieces of the designer paper (but that made it hard to take a good photo!). The sentiment I chose is a reasonable size so I let that be the focal point of the card. I added the flowers for colour and to soften the Tranquil Tide a little. The scalloped square behind the image is in Pool Party.

Make sure you click through to the next blog and see what everyone else has been creating.
