New catalogues are on their way....

Woo hoo it is new catalogue time!!

I love this time of year when there is such a buzz about new product - it's like Christmas morning!

I decided this year to have the catalogues sent directly from Stampin' Up! head office as postage cost are such a killer and the new catalogue is so thick and heavy (which is a great thing mind you, just not when you need to mail loads of them!!)

But I still wanted to send a little something from me so this is what I came up with - a handmade card, a shopping list, mini bookmarks (the idea came from scrimpingmommy) I was so excited to be able to use some of the new items that we could pre-order as demonstrators. There is so much to get excited about.

The new catalogue goes live June 1st 2018 at 10am Perth time (12 noon EST)

Please let me know if you don't already have a demonstrator, I would be more than happy to send you a catalogue.

But remember that with the new catalogue arriving, the old catalogues must retire. Some items are carrying over but a lot are not - especially the designer series papers and the ribbon. This year with the colour revamp there are alot of colours retiring so make sure you get inkpads,  ink refills and cardstock if your favourite colour/s are leaving. Some items have already run out and the sale finishes 31st May 2018.

Yet Another 50th Birthday - and no it's not mine!

I had another customer order for a 50th Birthday card! There seems to be a lot of 50th birthdays happening around me at the moment! But I do not mind one bit - any chance to make a special card and gift I am more than happy to make!

This card is slightly larger than normal but I forgot to take down the measurements sorry! I kind of made it up as I went along, making sure there was room for plenty of people to sign.

I used the Sweet Soiree bundle in the Occasions Catalogue - sadly it is all retiring at the end of the month but there is still time to get it. The designer series paper is beautifully foiled and makes a bold statement on it's own.

The card and the coordinating silver gable box were so easy to make with the Sweet Soiree embellishment kit - all the prices are pre cut and easy to mix and match. The die cut flowers for the inside of the card and the box were simply glued into place - no ink or scissors required!

I made white inserts for both sides of the inside of the card and used some left over designer series paper  and embellishments to add some interest.

The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set which I am happy to say is carrying over into the new catalogue along with the silver gable boxes (watch out for the new WHITE gable boxes too!)

More fabulous animals!

Hi everyone, I have some more fabulous animals for you today - a kangaroo and a baby koala! It doesn't get much more Aussie than that right? Thanks Stampin' Up!

I wanted the kangaroo to be the focus here so I coloured her (and the baby koala) with my blends. It does not show up too well in the photo but there are some green leaves on the top right and bottom left corners. I used white and lemon lime twist for a crisp combo. The two sentiments 'Welcome' and ' Little One' seemed very apt for this pair.  The kangaroo, leaves and sentiment all come from the same Animal Outing stamp set due to be released 1st June 2018.

The lemon lime twist ribbon is retiring 31st May 2018.

Sneak Peek - Wild About You with Animal Outing

As I mentioned last week when I showed you the new Stampin' Up! stamp set packaging this is one of the new stamp ses called Animal Outing. A fun set of animals and some cute words. Don't you just love that koala in the kangaroo's pouch? I can see that being great for baby cards with the 'welcome' and the 'little one' stamps.

This stamp set was one that I received at the Onstage Event back in April. I was also thrilled to see that is has a coordinating framelit set coming out in the new catalogue.

I wanted to do something bright and fun with the rhino so I used daffodil delight for a pop of colour with the contrast of the black and white. I thought the petal passion designer series paper (sadly retiring at the end of the month) went well as this looks like leaves on a vine.

The second card is basically the same, I just changed the orientation and used a larger piece of the black and white designer series paper for the background.

A quick colour with my blends and they were done! This stamp set will be available to order 1st June 2018 along with the framelit dies, designer series paper and other embellishments. I can't wait to get hold of the framelits I have to admit I am not a big fan of fussy cutting!!

New packaging styles - inkpads, stamp sets and more

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Stampin' Up! and they have used this opportunity to revamp not only the colours and inkpad design but also new packaging across stamp sets and accessories.

I shared this photo on my facebook page to show the comparison of the old and new ink pads. Huge improvement right? The cases are easier to open, they are like a makeup compact. The lid is attached to the base so it can't come off and they stack so much better! The ink itself has also slightly changed making it less juicy and bubbly. The standard reinkers can be used but the new reinkers have the improved ink with the added defoamer.

The ink pads will still fit in the colour caddy storage for those of you that use that. The new pads are  slightly shorter and slimmer so not quite as tight - I recommend you don't spin that caddy too fast!!

I love the new stamp set packaging. The stamp set name is bolder and easier to read on both the front of the case and on the side. Ooh, do I spy some new stamp sets in there? How cute are all the animals - what fun!  I'll be sharing some samples with that set next week.

I'm lucky to have a friend like you

I am so loving this Share What You Love Suite as you can probably tell! The first of today's cards is called a Z fold card and it a really simple fold but adds a little more wow to an ordinary card.

It is a simple as cutting a sheet of A4 cardstock lengthways and then folding in half and then folding the card front back on itself. Add your designer series paper, some stamped images and you are done! The sentiment is from the Love What you do Stamp set which is currently available as a bundle but will also be available to purchase separately from 1st June.

For this card I have used Rich Razzleberry and a returning favourite colour of mine Mint Macaron. The flowers have been coloured with my blends pens (more colours are being released June 1st!)

My second card again shows off the Share What you Love paper. I just love this sentiment - it is Stampin' Up!'s Statement of the Heart and I just love these words. This set is FREE and EXCLUSIVE to the Gotta Have it All Bundle and is only available until 31st May.

My card base is Tranquil Tide layered with the Share What You Love designer series paper. A little bit of burlap ribbon and sequin trim and the card is complete!
