Yippee - it's time for another Stampers Anonymous Team blog hop.
This month's theme is to use the above in colours - purple posy, seaside spray and rococo rose.
I love all these more pastel colours but was not sure where to begin until I spied this gorgeous butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set. I knew the large, bold image would be perfect for embossing and colouring.
Originally I started with the idea of using my blends markers but quickly realised the colours were going to be too bold for the look I wanted to achieve (but still a lovely effect) so instead I have used the inkpads and sponge daubers to get a softer, more chalky look.
I embossed the butterfly images with silver embossing powder on the whisper white panel then stamped and embossed them again on a separate piece to then colour. I then cut around the images and layered them on my card base using stampin dimensionals to give it a 3D look. The base cardstock is seaside spray.
I then stamped and embossed the sentiment form the same set to match using the stitched rectangle dies and added it over the top again using dimensionals.
