Hello all, thanks for joining me today for the StampingPals Challenge - this month is a colour challenge.
At first glance I thought yikes, what can I make with these colours!?
I had one of my team members with me at the time and she asked me what my process was for these challenges so I thought I would share it with you too in the hope that it helps you when you are stuck for inspiration.
First of all I take out the ink and cardstock of the colours to see them all together. I felt the colours were very bold together so I knew I wanted to add white to soften them a bit.
My second go to was to see if I had any DSP that had some or all of these colours. I pulled out a few pieces but no nothing seemed to work.
I realised that it was the pumpkin pie that was throwing me as it's not a colour I use a lot so I thought perhaps I would do flowers and use the pumpkin pie for the centre of the flowers.
So I started thumbing through the mini catalogue looking for some floral images to use and got to the fine art floral suite. I then used the samples to stamp and die cut the floral images in the challenge colours and my card was born!
You can see I used a white base to tone down some of the brightness.
In the end it came together quite quickly and I was pleasantly surprised that I love the card which I guess is the aim of challenges isn't it - to try new things and discover new loves!
I cannot wait to see what everyone else has created.
